397 Guest Rooms. One Memorable Experience.

To give guests a unique experience, each of Grand Hotel’s 397 guest rooms have been individually decorated by the hotel’s longtime interior designer, Carleton Varney of Dorothy Draper & Co. Guest rooms feature colorful wallpaper and furnishings along with breathtaking views of Mackinac Island. Accommodations options vary, from interior and lakeview guest rooms, to One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom Suites, to the private Masco Cottage.

The hotel’s Named Rooms and Suites feature their own thematic designs based on popular decorating styles, historical figures, locations and United States First Ladies. In 2018, Grand Hotel added two new Named Rooms: the Prentiss M. Brown Suite honors the legacy of the first Chairman of the Mackinac Bridge Authority and the Lilac Suite is an ode to Mackinac Island’s signature flower with custom-designed carpet and fabrics.

Four New Cupola Suites for 2019

Grand Hotel is excited that four new Cupola Suites will be completed in time for the opening of the 2019 season, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 397. These unique accommodations offer flexibility with One-Bedroom or Two-Bedroom options with a Parlor, ideal for families or anyone needing extra space.

The Cupola Suites project began in 2014 with the addition of the Musser Suite, followed by two new Cupola Suites in 2015, and three suites on the east end in 2017. At the completion of the project, the exterior roofline will resemble the hotel’s original architecture from the late 1800s with dormers lining the entire roof.
