Celebrate the "spirits" of the season at Gate House as Mackinac Island bartenders participate for the People's Choice Award for Best Mackinac Island Cocktail.
This fourth annual event will celebrate bartenders from the community, while guests enjoy samples of each cocktail, a favorite cocktail of their choice, and delectable
dishes from Gate House!
As part of this event, we have welcomed the iconic distillery Maker's Mark and Michigan's very own Ethanology Distillery, located in Elk Rapids, to craft signature cocktails for this event and provide their spirits as part of the competition selection.

Movies on Mackinac with Resident Historian Bob Tagatz
Beautiful Mackinac Island has long been a destination for inspiration and the location for a number of movies. Two of the more significant films, This Time for Keeps and Somewhere in Time, were filmed in and around Grand Hotel. In this lecture, you will learn why Mackinac Island was selected, the filming process, and some anecdotal stories about the actors.
