The Grand Sound of Music is One of the Grandest Parts of the Day

A variety of exceptional live music is available for the listening and dancing pleasure of our guests all day long. The full-time staff of musicians includes talent from New York City and Nashville, TN and some of the finest vocalists and harpists in the country led by Grand Hotel Music Director Dr. Alex Graham.

grand-hotel-mackinac-island-harpYour evening at Grand Hotel begins with the sounds of music while you enjoy dinner in the hotel’s Main Dining Room. After dinner, a harpist performs classical standards and popular songs in the Parlor during demitasse. Then before your evening ends enjoy a nightcap and dancing in the Terrace Room to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra.

Meet Grand Hotel Music Director Dr. Alex Graham

The music director at Grand HotelAlto saxophonist Dr. Alex Graham has performed with a variety of artists. After living in New York City for over ten years, Graham returned to his native Michigan to become the music director at Grand Hotel in 2001. His latest CD on Origin Records, Brand New, was ranked in the top 50 nationally for airplay. Dr. Graham also completed a doctorate in Jazz Studies at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, in 2009 and is an Assistant Professor of music and saxophone at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
