We are excited to announce the inaugural Manoogian Art Exhibit Package.

Come join us this August for a very special opportunity to explore the Manoogian Art Exhibit displayed in Grand Hotel’s Art Gallery courtesy of Richard and Jane Manoogian. Throughout both days you will be immersed in the art and beauty around Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island.

You will have the chance to learn first hand about individual paintings displayed in the gallery on a tour led by Benjamin Colman, Associate Curator of American Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts. This year’s art exhibit theme Visions of American Life: Paintings from the Manoogian Collection, 1850-1940 presented by the Detroit Institute of Arts as a part of the DIA’s Statewide program. The paintings are from the Manoogian Collection, 1850 – 1940. All guests will also get to experience a walking tour of the DIA Inside Out exhibit around the Grand Hotel grounds. This popular program brings high-quality art to outdoor venues. As a guest you will also receive complimentary admission to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Museum in downtown Mackinac Island. The package also includes evening cocktail receptions, and breakfast, and dinner daily.

Learn more about Benjamin Colman:

Benjamin joined the Detroit Institute of Arts as associate curator of American Art in 2015. His specialty is American decorative arts, design, and painting from the 17thto 20thcenturies. He is a graduate of Yale and holds an MA from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture. Prior to joining the DIA, he worked at the Florence Griswold Museum, Historic Deerfield, and Yale University Art Gallery.  He has published and curated exhibitions on topics from the broad history of American art including 17thand 18thcentury furniture, American Impressionism, modern art and design, and studio craft.
